A variety of toys and activities are offered which gives opportunities for the Tweenies to explore and develop their growing independence, social and language skills.
At present the Tweenie room can care for a maximum of 12 children aged 1 year (approx) to 2 years. The decision to move a child into Toddler room around their 2nd birthday will be a joint one between the parent and the nursery staff and the move will be gradual to ensure the child does not become unsettled.
In our Nursery we operate a Keyperson system, whereby one member of staff is responsible for providing individual attention to both the child and the parent.
Prospective applicants who wish to visit the Nursery should contact the Nursery Manager
The Nursery staff advise and encourage parents to spend some time settling their child into the Nursery. It is an opportunity for parents to meet and get to know the staff as well as forming a trusting relationship with the Key person. When the child first comes to the Nursery, the Key person will take particular responsibility for the settling-in period and be present when the parent and child arrive. The child should have the experience of seeing their parent and Key person in a friendly and confident relationship. The Key person will find the time invaluable for gathering information about the child’s routine, sleep pattern, feeding etc. The duration and frequency of visits will be agreed between the parents and the Key person.
To request a detailed information booklet, an application form or to ask any questions please contact the Nursery Manager, Jenny Anderson on 01642 865423.
